Prescribing of hypnotics in the UK is decreasing, in 2020 there were 8.5 million prescription items for hypnotics in UK primary care. Our prescribing data contains detailed prescribing information on the “z drug” hynotics, zopicline, zolpidem and zaleplon, as well as benzodiazepines (such as temazepam and flurazepam hydrochloride), melatonin and all other hypnotics currently available on prescription in the UK community.
